Resumen de La participación parental y el logro académico de los estudiantes. Estudio de caso de una escuela primaria en México

El objetivo del artículo es dar cuenta de la difícil relación que se establece entre la familia y la escuela. A partir de un estudio cualitativo, se realizó un análisis inductivo de esa relación tal y como aparece en las interacciones de profesores y directivos en el Consejo Técnico Escolar (CTE) y de las entrevistas posteriores con los integrantes de ese órgano colegiado. Para el análisis se utilizaron referentes normativos que establece la autoridad educativa y otros que provienen del campo de las Ciencias Sociales. Algunas de las conclusiones que se incluyen en el texto son la brecha que existe entre lo que se declara a nivel de la política educativa y lo que se vive cotidianamente en el contexto escolar, la relación parental con la escuela -mediada por un deficiente entendimiento del derecho a la educación de calidad, que vulnera el proceso formativo de los estudiantes- las discrepancias y desencuentros que se pueden convertir en obstáculos para el aprendizaje y, por ende, para el logro académico que se espera en ese nivel educativo.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the difficult relationship established between families and school. Based on a qualitative study, an inductive analysis of this relationship was carried out as it appears in the interactions between teachers and school managers in the Technical School Council (CTE) and the subsequent interviews with the members of that collegial body. Normative references established by the educational authority and others that come from the field of Social Sciences were used for this analysis. Some of the conclusions herein included are a gap between what is stated by education policy and what is experienced daily in the school context; that the parental relationship with the school -mediated by a poor understanding of the right to quality education, that seriously affects the educational process of the students-, and the discrepancies and disagreements that may become obstacles to learning, and, therefore, for the academic achievement expected in that level of education.
