    • A brief discussion of the Canadian procedures for accreditation of engineering programs ispresented initially and its most important features are highlighted. The importance of theserequirements is discussed from the perspective of substantial equivalency and a global acceptabilityof various approaches to engineering education by various countries while maintaining achievableobjectives. The current international efforts for globalization of engineering trades and services arereviewed and the requirements for the development of efficient multilateral agreements arediscussed. Finally, the current plan of CCPE International Affairs to develop bilateral andmultilateral agreements covering engineering accreditation, licensure and practice is presentedand discussed from an international perspective.
