    Es conocido por todos los interesados en la materia, el debate que genera la ambigüedad de ciertas acciones de Francisco de Goya y Lucientes. Muchos historiadores se han planteado la posibilidad de un Goya afrancesado, aunque la mayoría no admite discusiones en cuanto a su patriotismo. Las obras de los hermanos Chapman, Insult to Injury y otras manifestaciones basadas en los Desastres de la guerra, poseen un trasfondo que dista mucho de la simple polémica que generan estos artistas. En el presente artículo expondremos una serie de hipótesis formuladas que interrelacionarían la intencionalidad de Goya y de los hermanos Chapman en Insult to Injury.

    It is known by all those interested in the subject, the discussion that has ge-nerated for a long time the ambiguity of certain actions of Francisco de Goya and Lucientes. Many historians have considered the possibility that Goya had supported the French, althou-gh the majority does not admit discussions about his patriotism. The Chapman brother’s work Insult to Injury and another art creations based on Disasters of war, have a background that is far from the controversy that these artists generate. In this article, some hypothesis that intertwined the intentionality of Goya and Chapman brothers will be exposed.
