    MMuchos historiadores han estudiado las pinturas del X Almirante de Castilla (1625-1691), conocidas por el inventario de sus bienes, y han identificado varias que se han conservado. Aportamos bastantes más identificaciones, la mayoría en el Kunsthistorisches Museum de Viena, donde recalaron al comprarlas el archiduque Carlos del fallecido XI Almirante, exiliado en Portugal durante la Guerra de Sucesión. De estos y otros cuadros desaparecidos desvelamos sus autores, asuntos, procedencias y trayectorias posteriores.

    Many historians have studied the paintings of the 10th Admiral of Castile (1625-1691), known by his inventory of goods, and have identified some preserved. We provide several more, most of them in the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna, where they arrived when the Archduke Charles bought them fron the XI Admiral, deceased in Portugal during the Succession War. About these paintings and others which have disappeared we reveal their authors, themes, origins and later trajectories.
