    Creada el 19 de mayo 1802 por el entonces cónsul Napoleón Bonaparte, la Orden de la Legión de Honor de la Republica de Francia hoy en día ocupa un lugar de reconocido prestigio, realizando una importante función social en el país galo y en el extranjero hasta llegar a convertirse en un modelo para los sistemas premiales del resto de Europa y del mundo. Analizando sus insignias se puede apreciar como la Legión de Honor ha resistido a los continuos cambios políticos que se sucedieron en los dos siguientes siglos de la historia francesa, renovándose más veces en sus símbolos. Unas variaciones que este artículo quiere dar a conocer.

    Created on May 19, 1802 by the consul at that time Napoleon Bonaparte, the Order of the Legion of Honour of the French Republic, now a days occupies a place of recognized prestige, developing an important social role in the Gallic Country and abroad and becoming a model for the honours systems in the rest of Europe and the world. Analyzing its badges can be observed how the Legion of Honour has resisted the continuous political changes that took place in the next two centuries of French history, renewing itself often in its symbols. These history and variations are the ones this article intends to present.
