Editorial. La responsabilidad social como eje transversal al interior de la educación superior

    Uno de los pilares de la educación superior es y será responder a las exigencias del mundo actual por medio de la innovación, atendiendo los requerimientos de los indicadores de medición de resultados – calidad –, los cuales permiten la trazabilidad de acciones, estrategias y compromisos con el fin de acceder a éstos en términos de competitividad para crear un mundo mejor. Así, en la comunidad internacional la educación vista como la internacionalización del conocimiento deja atrás las acciones individuales, para convertirlas en redes globales que van a permitir transformar vidas, en donde la educación superior se ve sumergida.

    En este orden de ideas, uno de los aspectos que debe tener en cuenta la educación superior colombiana, frente a la calidad y la trazabilidad exigida por la comunidad internacional, es la Responsabilidad Social Universitaria (en adelante RSU), la cual ha de responder al impacto que debe generar la misión institucional, en la que se involucran los actores sociales que permitan cumplir a cabalidad tal misionalidad.

    Razón por la cual la RSU no debe seguir siendo vista como algo por realizar, y medible, sino como eje transversal al interior de la educación superior, que le permita abanderar procesos que sirvan de ejemplo, no solamente en lo local, sino en lo regional. Los aspectos señalados permiten evidenciar la necesidad de continuar en el ascenso por lograr definir unas directrices claras en materia de RSU y que ésta en la educación superior colombiana, no continúe siendo un caso aislado, sino que por el contrario se logre consolidar un proceso de formación en la materia con la rigurosidad que el tema exige.

    One of the pillars of higher education is and will be responding to the demands of today’s world through innovation, meeting the requirements of indicators of measurement of results - quality - which allow the traceability of actions, strategies and commitments with the purpose of accessing these in terms of competitiveness to create a better world. Thus, in the international community, education seen as the internationalization of knowledge leaves behind individual actions, to turn them into global networks that will allow transforming lives, where, higher education is submerged.In this order of ideas, one of the aspects that Colombian higher education must take into account, compared to the quality and traceability demanded by the international community, is the University Social Responsibility (hereinafter RSU) which must respond to the impact that must generate the institutional mission, in which the social actors are involved that allow to fully fulfill such missionality.

    Reason why the RSU should not be seen as something to be done, and measurable, but as a transversal axis within higher education that allows it to champion processes that serve as an example, not only in the local, but in the regional. The above-mentioned aspects make it possible to demonstrate the need to continue in the ascent by achieving clear guidelines in terms of USW and that this in Colombian higher education, not continue to be an isolated case, but on the contrary to consolidate a training process in the matter with the rigor that the subject demands.
