  • In current German literature for children, the topic of death is sometimes approached with such ease that it is almost insulting. In order to get a better picture of the literary production for young readers dealing with death in the German-language market, in this study we will focus on a specific group of works, namely those originally written in German with the main objective of analyzing the German literary market and offering a representative corpus of original works about death mainly for children to evaluate the presence and the absence of the role of death in children's literature, as well as its educational relevance in literature.
