Estimates of the growth of the interactive learning industry (computer‐based training, interactive video, etc) in the UK over the next few years vary between 20 and 40 per cent. Unfortunately, the provision for training the staff needed to sustain this growth is desperately inadequate. This paper examines the predictions for growth made by the National Economic Development Office and others, and contrasts these with opportunities for training authors and consultants.
