  • The author reviews the development of a support unit for teachers of nursing. The origins of the Unit and its links with the programmed instruction movement in the 1960s are outlined. The various services the Unit offers are described. These include AVMINE, a computerized index of support materials, various publications, courses and a consultancy service.
