  • Resumen
    • The training technology section within the Training Division of the Manpower Services Commission is responsible for the encouragement of ‘best training methods’ in training programmes within (a) MSC's own initiatives such as Open Tech and the Youth Training Scheme, (b) in MSC staff training, and (c) within British industry, commerce and education. It is in this role that the MSC has been encouraging the use of new training technology. However, it is clear that the advances in new training technology have not been matched by the general advance in the skills of teachers and trainers. The necessity for development is evident in order to ensure a successful future for Britain, but this development must be led by well‐trained people with the full support of their senior management. The new technologies are not a panacea for all learning problems but, used effectively, they can help meet the challenge of the future.
