  • This report discusses the changes which have occurred in FE during the last ten years and the effects of those changes on the activities of a typical local college; it describes the changes brought about in the curriculum by the creation of TEC and BEC and also the changes which have come about as a result of the establishment of the Manpower Services Commission and its links with FE. Finally it reviews the latest government proposals for a ‘new training initiative’ and suggests the priority measures needed to solve present problems. This is a personal viewpoint and does not attempt to present any official policy or thinking.
