An exploratory study was conducted on the importance of scientific knowledge as declared by pre-service teachers, their interest in science and their contact with information about science by non-academic ways. A total amount of 133 preservice teachers in the branches of Pre-School, Primary and Double Degree complimented a simple questionnaire designed by the authors. The answers showed between-branches differences in their valuation of, and level of contact with science. Important students’ incoherences were found to be investigated later.
