    • English is a Lingua Franca in the many domains. Its’ spread is a factor and a result of the Expanding Globalization.  The current conflict between Russia and the West initiates a number of increasing concerns towards the fate and the future of the Russian language, to be more exact, they are under-development, pidginization and uncontrolled influx and spread of the English language. The research was carried out at St- Petersburg University in the period January 2016. CLIL and non-CLIL students from three St-Petersburg universities were asked (N=301).The results of the investigations described main concerns about the fate of Russian and the level of adoption of the Russian variety of English (Russian English).
