JCR versus SJR Lexicalización o transliteración en la economía de la información

    El proceso de publicación y divulgación de la ciencia ha ido en aumento durante las últimas décadas y con ello una consignación especial a los sistemas de indizado como un referente de la productividad científica, en donde la hegemonía se centra en las revistas indizadas en el Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Por lo tanto, el objetivo del presente artículo es presentar como alternativa el sistema de indización Scimago Journal and Country Rank (SJR). Para ello partimos de un método histórico documental, con el cual se analizó el origen y desarrollo del Science Citation Index (SCI) por el Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). Fue entonces necesario presentar la base de datos SOCPUS desarrollada por la empresa Elsevier (la cual es análoga al SCI creado por el ISI), del cual deriva el SJR. El artículo concluye con una reflexión, que pueda servir como camino a seguir por las revistas de investigación en ciencias sociales.

    The publishing process and dissemination of science has been increasing over the past decades and thus a special provision systems indexing as a benchmark of scientific productivity, in which the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) have hegemony in journals indexed. Therefore, the objective of this article is to present an alternative indexing system SCImago Journal and Country Rank (SJR). So we start from a documentary historical method, with which the origin and development of the Science Citation Index by Institute for Scientific Information was analyzed. It was then necessary to present SOCPUS data base developed by the company Elsevier (which is analogous to SCI created by the ISI), from which derives the SJR. The article concludes with a reflection, that can be useful as a way forward for Social Sciences Research Journals.
