La educación es un tema que ha estado permanentemente en el debate público de Chile desde hace bastantes años. Las reformas educacionales de los gobiernos democráticos, posteriores a la dictadura militar, no han logrado dar con una solución al problema estructural de segregación que afecta al sistema educativo, y que se remonta incluso a tiempos previos a la dictadura militar. Este trabajo intenta hacer una aproximación global a esta situación, al clarificar algunos de los problemas estructurales del modelo educativo chileno.

Education in Chile is an issue that has been in public discussion for many years. While there have been reforms, they fail to hit the mark with the solution of the structural problem affecting the Chilean education system since the military dictatorship. This paper attempts to make an overall approach to this situation as much today in Chile, clarifying some of the structural problems of the Chilean educational model.
