    La relación entre escritura y vacío, su mutua implicancia, ha sido abordada por diversos campos del saber, como el psicoanálisis, la filosofía y la teoría literaria. Estas disquisiciones teóricas, dentro de sus propias especificidades disciplinares, señalan la falta, el hueco existente entre significante y significado, entre signo y cosa. En el presente artículo analizaremos El discurso vacío (1996) de Mario Levrero y Solitario de amor (1988) de Cristina Peri Rossi y examinaremos los modos en que se exhibe esa falta implicada en la práctica de la escritura. En el primero se presenta en el mismo título y en la propuesta enunciada en el inicio del texto: vaciar el discurso, despojarlo de toda posible significación, suprimir la referencialidad. En cuanto a la novela de Peri Rossi, se advierte en el intento por asir mediante el lenguaje un referente desbordante e inaprensible: el amor.

    The relationship between writing and emptiness, their mutual implication, has been approached by various knowledge fields, such as psychoanalysis, philosophy and literary theory. These theoretical disquisitions, within their own disciplinary specificities, point out the lack, the gap between signifier and signified, between sign and thing. In this article we will analyze El discurso vacío (1996) by Mario Levrero and Solitario de amor (1988) by Cris- tina Peri Rossi and we will examine the ways in which this emptiness involved in the practice of writing is exhibited. In the first one, it is presented in the title itself and in the proposal stated at the beginning of the text: emptying the discourse, stripping it of all possible meaning, suppressing referentiality. In the novel by Peri Rossi, it is clear to feel the attempt to grasp through language an overflowing and elusive reference: love.
