Resumen de Abordagem teórica acerca da deficiência auditiva em Portugal

Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar uma caracterização geral da Deficiência Auditiva, tendo em vista o conceito, classificação, tipos e graus de Deficiência Auditiva. É igualmente explanado os sistemas de comunicação usados no apoio a crianças com esta problemática em Portugal. Foi realizada uma pesquisa da literatura de forma a fazer um levantamento dos sistemas preferenciais, efeitos positivos da identificação e intervenção precoce. É apresentada uma secção dedicada à aquisição da língua gestual portuguesa, seus efeitos em crianças em idade-pré-escolar, e práticas centradas na investigação tendo em conta a língua primária destas crianças. This article aims to present a general characterization of hearing impairment, considering the concept, classification, types and degrees of hearing impairment and also explaning communication systems used to support children with this problem in Portugal. A review of the literature was performed in order to have a list of the preferential systems, positive effects of identification and early intervention. A section on the acquisition of Portuguese sign language, its effects on pre-school children, and research-centered practices is presented, taking into account the primary language of these children. The systems are intended to contribute to a better knowledge of researchers, professionals and parents.
