    Este trabajo se propone hacer una pequeña presentación del color hong en la historia china para demostrar la importancia del color rojo tanto en la cultura como en la lengua del país, y comparar los aspectos lingüísticos y culturales entre los términos de color hong en chino y los de rojo en español para comprobar que el sistema de los términos cromáticos de hong, igual que el rojo en español, está construido por término básico y términos no básicos, y a partir de eso, tendrá como corpus datos de las palabras de color rojo aparecidas en Hong-lou-meng y sus traducciones al español en Sueño de las mansiones rojas, con el fin de confirmar la existencia de las muchas y variadas connotaciones asociativas de hong diferentes al rojo en español y producidas por razones tradicionales, colectivas y culturales.

    This paper will first make a small presentation of the colour hong in Chinese history in order to demonstrate the importance that the colour red has for both the culture and the lenguage of this country. After that, it will make a comparison of the linguistic and cultural aspects between the red colour terms hong in Chinese and those of rojo in Spanish, to corroborate that the system of colour terms hong in Chinese, just like the rojo one in Spanish, is constructed by basic and non-basic terms, and from that, the paper will take as corpus the data of the red terms appeared in Hong-lou-meng and their translations into Spanish in Sueño de las mansiones rojas, with the aim to confirm the existence of the many and varied associative connotations of hong, different from the rojo in Spanish and produced by tradicional, collective and cultural reasons.
