The importance of mobility between European countries has been underlined by theEuropean higher education system. In this context, teaching in English favours it,since it is the main language within European Universities. Nevertheless, do studentsperform academically better compared to when they are taught in their motherlanguage? Although there are different points of views, depending on the context andon the bilingual type, recent studies relate bilingual teaching with several positiveissues associated with better academic results (Cummins, 2002). To answer to thisquestion, the marks and motivation showed by 134 students from the 1st year of theBusiness Management Degree offered by the University of Murcia are analyzed. Results show that, although there are no significant differences between the marksobtained by the students from the Bilingual Group (lessons in English) and thosefrom the Spanish group, the former show a greater motivation due to the fact oflearning in English, as the mean to access to the signature contents (BolarinMartinez et al., 2012)
