  Doce machos pertenecientes a las razas Majorera, Tinerfena y Palmera (n=4) fueron empleados en la presenteexperiencia, permaneciendo agrupados por razas durante toda la duración de la misma. Su comportamientoreproductivo se estudió desde los cinco meses (abril-2002) hasta los 15 meses (febrero-2003) de vida. Cadasemana todos los machos se presentaron a una hembra previamente estrogenizada, recogiendo los siguientesparámetros en la sala: actitud frente a la hembra (se arrincona, pasea, se interesa o se coloca detrás), monta(Intenta saltar, erecciona, penetra, eyacula y eyacula en la vagina), y diversos signos etiológicos (Flehmen,manotea, olisqueo de vulva, saca la lengua, topa, orina, lame el pene/orina en la cara, lame a la hembra, voltea elcuello y gruñe). El objetivo del presente trabajo fue estudiar las diferencias raciales en cuanto a la evolución delcomportamiento sexual en el entrenamiento para la recogida de semen. Durante los cuatro primeros meses deestudio se observó escasa actividad y prácticamente ninguna diferencia estadística entre razas. Entre los nueve ylos doce meses de vida las diferencias entre razas se acentúan, siendo los machos tinerfeños los que presentanuna menor actividad sexual. A partir de los trece meses de edad, todos los machos presentan una actividadsexual similar.

  Twelve males belonging to the Majorera, Tinerfeña and Palmera breeds (n=4) were used in the currentexperiment, and were maintained in breed groups throughout. Their reproductive behaviour was studied from 5months of life (April 2002) until 15 months (February 2003). Each week all the males were presented with afemale who had been previously estrogenized and the following parameters were recorded: attitude in front ofthe female, mounting (Attempts to mount, erections, penetration, ejaculation and ejaculation in the vagina) anddiverse ethiological signs (Flehmen, nudging, genital sniffing, putting the tongue out, bumping, urinating lickingthe penis/self enurination, licking the female, turn round the neck and growling)The objective of the present work was to study the different breeds with regard to the evolution of sexualbehaviour and training for the collection of semen. For the first four months little activity was observed andthere were practically no differences between the breeds. From nine to twelve months of life the differencesbetween breeds increase, the Tinerfeñan males showing less sexual activity. As from thirteen months of age, allthe males showed a similar sexual activity.
