Obstáculos en el aprendizaje del francés: percepciones de los estudiantes de lenguas modernas (Universidad ECCI)

    Este artículo de investigación precisa las percepciones sobre los obstáculos que surgen en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del idioma francés en un grupo de estudiantes de Lenguas Modernas. Para tal propósito, creamos una encuesta de opiniones que cuestionaba acerca de los obstáculos socioeconómicos, cognoscitivos, psicoafectivos, de concentración y los relacionados con el entorno de aprendizaje. 315 estudiantes de distintos semestres fueron interrogados de manera directa. Mediante el análisis cuantitativo de los datos recogidos se revela que un número relativamente bajo de estudiantes declara desempeñar simultáneamente y con éxito sus estudios y una labor remunerada. Cerca o más de la mitad afirma utilizar estrategias de aprendizaje apropiadas, comunicar con dificultad y no estima perjudicar su aprendizaje de la lengua francesa con el uso de distractores virtuales y electrónicos en clase. Se concluye que se deben hacer esfuerzos tanto individuales como colectivos para perfeccionar los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje en el idioma francés.

    This research article details the perceptions about the obstacles, which arise in the teaching/learning of the French language on the part of a group of students at the Modern Languages faculty. Towards that end, we undertook a survey of their opinions about the socio-economic, cognitive and psycho-affective obstacles to learning a foreign language and those to do with the concentration of the students and the learning environment. 315 students from different semesters were directly involved in the survey. By means of a quantitative analysis of the data that were gathered, it was shown that a relatively low number of students stated that they have been simultaneously successful at both their studies and a paid job. About half or more of them said that they use suitable learning strategies, but find it difficult to communicate in a foreign language and do not think that distracting themselves in the classroom with the use of virtual or electronic devices harms their learning. The study concludes that both individual and collective efforts should be made to improve the teaching/learning of French.
