  La cistitis es una inflamación del interior de la vejiga, normalmente causada por una infección bacteriana. Inicialmente se localiza en la uretra, donde bacterias procedentes del intestino se introducen y multiplican para seguir su camino hacia la vejiga, los uréteres e incluso llegar a los riñones.

  Es una causa de consulta en atención primaria, además que normalmente este proceso infeccioso suele repetirse.

  La Bacteria Escherichia Coli es la causante habitual del 85% de las cistitis, aunque puede haber otros gérmenes como la Rebsiella, la Proteus Mirabillis o el hongo Candida Albicans, entre ellas algunos alimentos, jabones o perfumes, que provocan la irritación de la vejiga.
