    Este artículo postula que los fundamentos de la enseñanza de la teoría política en el colegio de la Universidad Makerere se obtienen de la hegemonía británica y estadounidense. Las tendencias hegemónicas están ejemplificadas por el contenido de lo que se enseñó como teoría política, la naturaleza del profesorado del Departamento de Ciencia Política: el país de origen, la institución donde se formó y su foco de investigación. Concluye que simplificar la enseñanza de la teoría política en la Universidad de Makerere requerirá una comprensión de su pasado hegemónico y su contexto actual con el que se supone que está alineado

    Cet article postule que les fondements de l’enseignement de la théorie politique au Makerere Collège universitaire proviennent de l’hégémonie britannique et américaine. Les tendances hégémoniques sont illustrées par le contenu de ce qui a été enseigné comme théorie politique, la nature du personnel enseignant du Département de science politique - le pays d’origine, l’institution où ils se sont formés et leur axe de recherche. Il conclut que la rationalisation de l’enseignement de la théorie politique à l’Université de Makerere exigera une compréhension de son passé hégémonique et de son contexte actuel sur lequel elle est censée s’aligner.

    This paper posits that the foundations of the teaching of political theory at Makerere University College obtain from British and American hegemony. The hegemonic tendencies are exemplified by the content of what was taught as political theory, the nature of the teaching staff in the Department of Political Science – the country of origin, the institution where they trained, and their research focus. It concludes that streamlining the teaching of political theory at Makerere University will require an understanding of its hegemonic past and its present context to which it is supposed to be aligned.

    Dieser Aufsatz postuliert, dass die Grundlagen der Lehre der politischen Theorie am Hochschule der Makerere Universität aus der britischen und amerikanischen Hegemonie stammen. Die hegemonialen Tendenzen werden durch den Inhalt dessen, was als politische Theorie gelehrt wurde, die Art des Lehrpersonals im Fachbereich Politikwissenschaft - das Herkunftsland, die Institution, in der sie ausgebildet wurden, und ihr Forschungsschwerpunkt - veranschaulicht. Die Studie kommt zu dem Schluss, dass die Straffung der Lehre der politischen Theorie an der Makerere Universität ein Verständnis ihrer hegemonialen Vergangenheit und ihres gegenwärtigen Kontextes erfordert, an dem sie sich ausrichten soll.
