    The teaching of physics and the need for a more diversified approach to content have long been discussed in order to arouse students' greater interest in physics. In the literature it is possible to find proposals that used different teaching instruments, such as videos, simulations, theater, films, visits to museums or science centers, low cost experiments, as an auxiliary tool in physics / science teaching. In addition, many other researches have shown that in general students present great conceptual difficulties in the initial contents of physics, namely: reference, distance traveled, time interval, average speed, acceleration. In this context, the main objective in this work is to use sports as an auxiliary and motivating tool in physics teaching. Observing the great interest of the students in the practice of American football, it was decided to specifically use this practice in this work. Using as theoretical reference the theory of meaningful learning of Ausubel, we developed the work in three stages. In the first, a brief seminar was presented for the participants, where it was explained that the objective of the work was to use physics as an auxiliary tool to analyze the game / plays of the American football. Afterwards, we performed the practical activities and finally performed the analysis of the plays performed in the previous stage. Considering the results obtained and observed, the use of the practical activity proved to be a very interesting alternative and contributed to the dedication of the students involved being much greater than the attention of the same ones in the traditional classes.

    Há muito tempo tem-se discutido o ensino de física e a necessidade de uma abordagem mais diversificada do conteúdo, de modo a despertar um maior interesse do aluno pela física. Na literatura é possível encontrar propostas que utilizaram diferentes instrumentos de ensino, tais como, vídeos, simulações, teatro, filmes, visitas a museus ou centros de ciências, experimentos de baixo custo, como ferramenta auxiliar no ensino de física/ciências. Além disso, muitas outras pesquisas têm mostrado que de forma geral os alunos apresentam grandes dificuldades conceituais nos conteúdos iniciais da física, a saber: referencial, distância percorrida, intervalo de tempo, velocidade média, aceleração. Neste contexto tem-se como principal objetivo, utilizar a prática esportiva como ferramenta auxiliar e motivadora no ensino de física. Observando o grande interesse dos alunos pela prática do futebol americano, decidiu-se por utilizar especificamente esta prática neste trabalho. Utilizando como referencial teórico a teoria de aprendizagem significativa de Ausubel, desenvolvemos o trabalho em três etapas. Na primeira, apresentou–se um breve seminário para os participantes, onde explicou–se que o objetivo do trabalho era utilizar a física como ferramenta auxiliar para análise do jogo/jogadas do futebol americano. Na sequência, realizamos as atividades práticas e por fim realizamos as análises das jogadas executadas na etapa anterior. Considerando os resultados obtidos e observados, a utilização da atividade prática se mostrou uma alternativa muito interessante e contribuiu para que a dedicação dos alunos envolvidos fosse muito maior do que a atenção dos mesmos nas aulas tradicionais.
