El Docente-Investigador: ¿Qué Investiga El Profesor Universitario?

    Pensar en un docente- investigador, evidencia el acercamiento a procesos de innovación, y reflexión de su práctica educativa, implica una acción permanente de revisión y análisis de lo que cotidianamente desarrolla en el aula para que con ello recree su quehacer docente y se convierta en un sujeto activo, que intencione el aprendizaje entre los estudiantes, desarrolle diagnósticos permanentes, busque el mejoramiento constante de su ejercicio docente y, por lo tanto, la profesionalización de su práctica educativa y/o su práctica profesional.

    Partiendo que son escasos los docentes que desarrollan procesos de investigación de su práctica educativa y de aspectos disciplinares vinculados ésta, sin que con ello, como señala Francisco Imbernón (1991), detone aprendizaje significativos y la transformación e innovación de su ejercicio docente  y por ende el desarrollo de aprendizajes significativos entre los estudiantes; la ponencia que aquí se presenta tiene como propósito destacar la importancia de la figura del docente-investigador, las formas bajo las cuales investigan en el aula y los beneficios que esto genera al proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje.

    Este ejercicio se desarrolla bajo una metodología de corte cualitativo, teniendo como grupo de estudio a los docentes de la Facultad de Turismo y Gastronomía de la UAEMex.  Los principales hallazgos de este ejercicio destacan que los profesores universitarios deben abandonar prácticas tradicionalistas para incursionar en procesos de innovación que les permita ser verdaderos sujetos de cambio, a partir de la constante reflexión e investigación de su ejercicio docente (incluyendo lo disciplinar). Así mismo destacan tres ejes vinculados a la figura del docente-investigador: la investigación para la docencia, el investigador como docente y el docente como investigador.

    Thinking of a researcher-teacher, which evidences the approach to processes of innovation and reflection of their educational practice, implies a permanent action of revision and analysis of what they develop daily in the classroom so that they can recreate their teaching work and become an active subject, who intends learning among students, develops permanent diagnostics, seeks constant improvement of their teaching practice and, therefore, the professionalization of their educational practice and/or their professional practice.

    Since there are few teachers who develop research processes on their educational practice and related disciplinary aspects, without this, as Francisco Imbernón (1991) points out, triggering significant learning and the transformation and innovation of their teaching practice and therefore the development of significant learning among students, the purpose of the paper presented here is to highlight the importance of the figure of the teacher-researcher, the ways in which they research in the classroom and the benefits this generates to the teaching and learning process.

    This exercise is developed under a qualitative methodology, having as a study group the teachers of the Faculty of Tourism and Gastronomy of the UAEMex.  The main findings of this exercise highlight that university professors should abandon traditionalist practices to engage in innovation processes that allow them to be true subjects of change, based on constant reflection and research of their teaching practice (including the disciplinary). Likewise, three axes linked to the figure of the teacher-researcher stand out: research for teaching, the researcher as a teacher and the teacher as a researcher.
