n contemporary times, robotics reveals itself to be a fundamental area for the technological, scientific, and economic development of a country, besides consisting of an educational technology capable of being incorporated into the pedagogical process in Basic Education, involving creativity, motivation, and meaningful learning. Our research objective was to identify the regions and Brazilian institutions that produced research at the Master's and Doctoral level on Pedagogical Robotics (RP) in Brazil with a focus on Basic Education, in the period 2001-2017. To do so, we conducted a Systematic Literature Mapping whose database was the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD). The research was analyzed, especially from the point of view of its regional and institutional location and also the funding sector. Forty-one dissertations and seven theses were identified. The results show that the Brazilian research on Pedagogical Robotics is concentrated in the South (33%), Northeast (29%) and Southeast (27%) regions, with the production concentrated 75% in only five states. Most of them (86%) are financed by the public sector. We also verified the predominance of public institutions, especially universities, as major producers of research on the theme; together, these institutions were responsible for almost half of the scientific production. Thus, we consider that in a continental country like Brazil, the centralization of scientific production can generate a situation of indifference of the student community of those regions towards the Pedagogical Robotics theme. Even more, gaps such as the absence of theorization in research in RP, associated with the fragility in the formation of doctors in this area can compromise the fundamental components of the institutionalization of knowledge, teaching and research and points to the need to expand the number of research lines in the Post-graduate programs in Education/Teaching.
