    La reflexión que se presenta analiza tres situaciones actuales y el impacto que se percibe sobre la enseñanza del inglés en los Colegios públicos de Esmeraldas. El impacto de la enseñanza se relaciona con la reducción de 5 a 3 horas semanales por el cambio en la malla curricular en el año lectivo 2023 - 2024 ciclo Costa, así como también por la falta de directrices oficiales por parte del Ministerio de Educación y la falta de capacitación a los docentes sobre el manejo del texto con respecto a la disminución en las horas- clase en la malla curricular de la materia.

    The reflection presented analyzes three current situations and the perceived impact on teaching English in the Esmeraldas public schools. The impact of teaching is related to the reduction from 5 to 3 hours per week due to the change in the curriculum in the 2023 - 2024 Coastal Cycle school year, as well as the lack of official guidelines from the Ministry of Education and the lack of training for teachers on the handling of the text concerning the decrease in class time in the subject's curriculum.
