    Con la actual celebración de los 255 años de la fundación de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos en la ciudad de Valencia (1768), se conmemora asimismo, paralelamente, el inicio de las enseñanzas artísticas en la histórica Escuela Superior de Bellas Artes. De hecho, Academia y Escuela se instalaron en los espacios del Estudio General, en el edificio de La Nau, hasta su traslado, con la Desamortización, al Convento del Carmen (1848), donde Academia, Escuela y Museo de Bellas Artes convivieron y consolidaron sus respectivos proyectos, estrechamente interrelacionados, en el marco de la Ilustración. Ya en el siglo XX Museo y Academia pasaron, a su vez, al edificio de San Pio V (1942), cuyos espacios hoy siguen ocupando, mientras que la Escuela de Bellas Artes pasaría, oficialmente, a integrarse en la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, como Facultad de Bellas Artes de San Carlos (Decreto de 1978). Una trayectoria compleja y cargada de historias, que, oportunamente, se revisa y justifica a través del presente trabajo, en el que se barajan tanto la mirada diacrónica sobre las indicadas instituciones –académicas, universitarias y museísticas-- como la memoria personal de su autor, cargada de experiencias integradas, que van aportándose.

    With the current celebration of the 255th anniversary of the foundation of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos in the city of Valencia (1768), it is also commemorated, in parallel, the beginning of artistic education in the historic Superior School of Fine arts. In fact, the Academy and the School were installed in the spaces of the General Study, in the La Nau building, until its transfer, with the Confiscation, to the Convento del Carmen (1848), where the Academy, School and Museum of Fine Arts coexisted and consolidated their respective projects, closely interrelated, within the framework of the Enlightenment. Already in the 20th century, the Museum and the Academy moved, in turn, to the San Pio V building (1942), whose spaces they still occupy today, while the School of Fine Arts would officially become part of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, as Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos (Decree of 1978). A complex trajectory loaded with stories, which is timely reviewed and justified through this work, in which both the diachronic view of the indicated institutions -academic, university and museums- as well as the personal memory of its author are considered. , loaded with integrated experiences, which are being contributed.
