Resumen de Estudio de algunas situaciones sobre figuras planas equivalentes e isoperimétricas mediante el uso de “cabri geómètre II”

  Es bien conocida la tendencia de muchos estudiantes a confundir los conceptos de área y perímetro de figuras planas. Castelnuovo (1975) defiende que la adquisición del concepto de área debe llevarse a cabo mediante la confrontación con el de perímetro. Para ello propone actividades de Geometría Dinámica, realizadas con materiales diversos, que permiten considerar la variación del área de una superficie cuando ésta cambia de forma mientras el perímetro se mantiene constante. La autora defiende la idea según la cual es el cambio de superficie, su transformación, lo que atrae la mirada y el pensamiento del estudiante, a la vez que le hace intuir el concepto de área. En la actualidad podemos servirnos de un entorno de Geometría Dinámica como es el Cabri Géomètre II para estudiar con nuestros alumnos de Magisterio de segundo curso de Educación Primaria algunas situaciones referidas a figuras planas, tanto equivalentes como isoperimétricas, para profundizar en las ideas expuestas por la autora citada.

  The tendency of many students to confuse the concepts of area and perimeter of plane figures is well known. Castelnuovo (1975) defends that the acquisition of the concept of area must be carried out by means of the confrontation with that of the perimeter. To do that, she proposes some activities of Dynamic Geometry, to be made with different material, that allow us to consider the variation of the area of a surface when its shape changes while its perimeter stays constant. The author defends the idea that it is the change of surface, its transformation, that attracts the glance and the thought of the student and what makes him to intuit the concept of area. At present we can use a type of Dynamic Geometry Software as can be “Cabri Géomètre II” to study with our students of Teaching Training some situations referring to plane figures, as equivalent as isoperimetric, with the aim to put emphasis on the ideas exposed by the mentioned author.
