    Este artículo reflexiona sobre la hipótesis de una vuelta al fascismo en el mundo actuala través de partidos de derecha radical que han ido adquiriendociertafuerza política en Europa, Estados Unidos y América Latinaa lo largo de las primeras décadas del siglo XXI.El presenteanálisis se inspira en dos volúmenes recientes, elaborados por la pluma de dos ilustres historiadores contemporáneos:Quién es fascistade Emilio Gentiley Las nuevas caras de la derechade Enzo Traverso.Ambos autores debaten sobre la existencia de un nexo real entre la derecha radical en el siglo XXI yel fascismo históricoen la Europade entreguerras. El debate, lejos de agotarse, es de absoluta centralidad en un momento en que el adjetivo"fascista" a menudo se amplía hasta el punto de desnaturalizarloy vaciarlo de su contenido original.     This article reflects on the hypothesis of a return to fascism in today's world through far-rightparties that have been acquiring a certain political strength in Europe, the United States and Latin America throughout the first decades of the 21st century.The present analysis is inspired by two recent volumes, written by two illustrious contemporary historians: Las nuevas caras de la derechaby Enzo Traverso and Quién es fascistaby Emilio Gentile.Both authors debate the existence of a real link between the far-right in the 21st century and historical fascism in interwar Europe. The debate, far from being exhausted, is crucialat a time when the concept of "fascist" is often expanded to the point of being deformedand emptiedof its authentic content. Using a historical approach is essential to understand the true meaning of the word "fascism" and avoid its misuse.
