    Este apunte crítico reflexiona sobre lo que se ha dado en llamar el nuevo fenómeno nacionalista español. Se inicia con una admonición al cauto silencio que suscita en los medios. A esto sigue una breve síntesis del estado de la cuestión a nivel historiográfico. Muy modestamente,dado lo ambicioso del objetivo, el artículo trata también de comprender cómo y por qué la “vividura” nacional disfruta en estos tiempos de una legitimidad emocional tan profunda. Para ello, desde la virtualidad del paradigma del “nacionalismo banal” como método de análisispara la exploración de la nación “desde abajo”, se citan algunos de los artefactos culturales que están coadyuvando ala “interiorización” y naturalización por parte de los españoles de una determinada identidad nacional. Incluye, por último, una reflexión muy personal sobre las dificultades, el fracaso de identificación que uno tiene con dicho diseño nacionalista, o cualquier otro. Algo que, por lo demás, se nos antoja como condición sine qua nonpara ser dueño de nosotros mismos.

    This critical note reflects on what has been called the new Spanish nationalist phenomenon. It begins with an admonition to the cautious silence it provokes in the media. This is followed by a brief summary of the state of the art at a historiographical level. Very modestly,given the ambitious objective, the article also tries to understand how and why national “living” enjoys such deep emotional legitimacy in these times. To this end, from the virtuality of the paradigm of “banal nationalism” as a method of analysis for theexploration of the nation “from below”, some of the culturalartifacts that are contributing to the “interiorization” and naturalization by the Spaniards of a certain national identityare cited.Finally, it includes a very personal reflection on the difficulties, the failure of identification that one has with thisnationalist design, or any other. Something that, moreover, seems to us to be a sine qua noncondition for being master of ourselves
