Escuela y familia: por una alianza necesaria para la prevención de los estereotipos de género en la adolescencia

    Los estereotipos de género permean el imaginario colectivo de la sociedad, en general, y de la adolescencia, en particular, debido, en parte, a la socialización diferenciada ejercida por la familia y el sistema educativo. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, el trabajo que se presenta tiene como objetivos fundamentales examinar la presencia de estereotipos sexistas, en el ámbito familiar y en el ámbito académico, en el alumnado que cursa Educación Secundaria Obligatoria en la Comunidad Autónoma de Galicia y analizar la posible existencia de diferencias en función del sexo, en dichos estereotipos. Para ello, se ha utilizado un diseño no experimental de carácter transversal, de corte descriptivo, a través de un cuestionario elaborado ad hoc y aplicado a una muestra de 379 estudiantes de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (50.7% chicos y 49.3% chicas). Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que, si bien el alumnado presenta una buena disposición hacia la igualdad de género, esta es mucho más acentuada en las alumnas que en los alumnos, en los dos ámbitos objeto de estudio (familiar y académico). Estos resultados permitirán establecer pautas de actuación, tanto desde el ámbito académico como desde el ámbito familiar, de forma que ambos agentes de socialización puedan actuar de forma cooperativa en la erradicación de los estereotipos de género.

    Gender stereotypes permeate the collective imagination of society, in general, and of adolescence, in particular, due, in part, to the differentiated socialization exercised by the family and the educational system. Taking into account the foregoing, the work presented has as fundamental objectives to examine the presence of sexist stereotypes, in the family environment and in the academic field, in the students who attend Compulsory Secondary Education in the Autonomous Community of Galicia and to analyze the possible existence of - differences based on sex, in said stereotypes. For this, a non-experimental design of a cross-sectional nature, of a descriptive nature, has been used, through an instrument elaborated ad hoc and applied to a sample of 379 students of Compulsory Secondary Education (50.7% boys and 49.3% girls). The results show that, although the students present a good disposition towards gender equality, this is much more accentuated in the female students than in the male students, in the two areas under study (family and academic). These results will make it possible to establish guidelines for action, both from the academic sphere and from the family sphere, so that both socialization agents can act cooperatively in the eradication of gender stereotypes.
