    Introducción: En la industria cinematográfica se están generando cambios profundos por el avance tecnológico en el campo de la inteligencia artificial. En el sector de la interpretación, el recurso a la vivificación de star system difuntas para sustituir a actores reales genera preocupación. Metodología: Se opta por un estudio histórico, descriptivo, analítico y cualitativo. Resultados: La tendencia dead celebrities pone de manifiesto cuestiones laborales sobre el futuro profesional del sector de la interpretación, cuestiones comerciales sobre el valor añadido que puede aportar un deleb a una producción cinematográfica, la necesidad de una Ley de Inteligencia Artificial global e integradora que regule los usos éticos, los aspectos jurídicos de propiedad intelectual y de derechos de imagen post mortem. Discusión: Una situación que abre en la sociedad el debate sobre el uso comercial de la imagen de una persona tras su muerte y la protección de su memoria. Conclusiones: La investigación apunta a que esta tendencia, aunque aporte beneficios y rentabilidad a los grandes productores y estudios de cine, también genera disfunciones.

    Introduction: In the film industry significant changes are underway as a result of the technological advancements in the field of AI. In interpretation the use of vivification technology to bring back to life deceased star systems to substitute real-life actors is generating much concern. Methodology: Employing a descriptive, analytical and qualitative historical study. Results: The growing trend of dead celebrities forces the evaluation of numerous issues. Regarding the professional future of the interpretation sector, the added commercial value of using a deleb in productions as well as the need for a global and integrative law that regulates the use of AI, particularly in relation to ethical values and the legal aspects of intellectual property and image rights post mortem. Discussions: A situation that opens up social debate about the commercial use of a person’s image after their death and the protection of their legacy. Conclusions: The investigation determines that although this trend provides benefits and profits to major film producers and studios it also has many flaws.
