    Este trabajo intenta fechar la inscripción consacratoria de la iglesia rupestre de San Martín de Villarén de Valdivia mediante un procedimiento científico de cotejo epigráfico que aclare la polémica sobre la datación de este templo y de otros de la línea Alto Pisuerga-Alto Ebro. Una próxima entrega de este estudio analizará el ambiente cultural en que se fundaron estos templos, vinculado a la lucha entre arrianismo y catolicismo en la Hispania visigoda.

    This work attempts to date the consecration inscription of the rock church of San Martín de Villarén de Valdivia through a scientific procedure of epigraphic comparison. The aim is to clarify the controversy about the dating of this church and others in the High Pisuerga-High Ebro area. A forthcoming installment of this study will analyze the cultural environment in which these temples were founded, which was linked to the struggle between Arianism and Catholicism in the Visigothic Hispania.
