Turismo accesible en la estructura urbana de las ciudades turísticas: El caso de Santa Cruz, RN - Brasil

    La "accesibilidad en turismo" surge con la intención de incluir a las personas con discapacidad o movilidad reducida en la práctica de la actividad turística, teniendo en cuenta que dichos sujetos deben ser incentivados en la búsqueda permanente de una vida activa y saludable. Por lo tanto, es necesario adaptar los lugares turísticos adecuándolos de forma que atiendan a este público y a los demás individuos de la sociedad con seguridad y confort. Así, este artículo busca contribuir al debate sobre el "turismo accesible" y para esto se evaluó la estructura de accesibilidad para las personas con discapacidad y movilidad reducida de los principales equipamientos de ocio y atractivos turísticos del municipio de Santa Cruz, RN, Brasil. La recolección de datos se realizó por medio de la aplicación de fichas para realizar inventarios turísticos (disponibles en el sitio web del Ministerio de Turismo) en 3 equipamientos de ocio y 2 atractivos turísticos del municipio y de la observación de estos lugares realizando un registro fotográfico. Por medio de la investigación se percibió que en los lugares investigados es posible constatar algún tipo de adaptación, sin embargo, sería necesario realizar mejoras significativas en sus estructuras para que el público mencionado pueda utilizar esos lugares libremente y con autonomía.

    Accessible Tourism in Urban Structure of Tourist Cities: The Case of Santa Cruz/RN, Brazil. Accessibility in tourism arises the aim to include people with disabilities or reduced mobility in the practice of tourism activity, given the need of encouraging them to pursuit, permanently, an active and healthy life. Therefore, it is necessary to adapt touristic sights, adjusting them for a secure and comfortable use not only for people with disabilities and reduced mobility, but for all individuals living in the society. Thus, this article aims to contribute to the debate on "accessible tourism" and to reach this main objective, the structure of accessibility for people with disabilities and reduced mobility of the major leisure equipments and tourist attractions of the city of Santa Cruz/RN (Brazil) was evaluated. Data collection was done through the application of forms for tourist inventory (available on the Ministry of Tourism website) in 3 (three) leisure equipments and 2 (two) tourist attractions of the city and the observation of these sites through photographic record. Through research, it was possible to verify some kind of adaptation in the investigated sites. However, significant improvements in their structures are still necessary for the free and autonomous use of the related public.
