    En este trabajo se hace un profundo repaso por la historia de la World Wide Web (WWW) en España y su evolución diacrónica desde sus orígenes en los años noventa has ta la actualidad, donde podemos hablar ya de sus dos avances: la Web 2.0 o Web Social y la Web 3.0 o Web Semántica.

    La carrera evolutiva de la WWW comenzó con el diseño de las interfaces gráficas de las propias páginas y siguió con la implantación de aplicaciones que permiten al usuario hacer compras a través de la red y gestionar sus recursos con la administración, hasta convertirle en gestor de los contenidos con los que interactúa, produciendo información para compartir con los millones de usuarios de la Red. Estas aplicaciones constituyen la primera gran evolución de la WWW, y forman parte de la denominada Web Social o Web 2.0. Pero el imparable avance de este medio no se ha quedado en este punto;

    la tecnología está desarrollando aplicaciones que permiten a las páginas Web aportar significado, es decir que traduzcan sus contenidos a un lenguaje que pueda ser comprendido por el ordenador, lo que nos permite hablar de la tercera gran evolución de estos medios: la Web Semántica o Web 3.0.

    Este estudio forma parte de una serie de trabajos que está realizando el grupo de investigación FONTA de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

    In this paper a thorough review of the history of the World Wide Web (WWW) in Spain and their diachronic evolution from its origins in the nineties to the present is made. Nowadays we can speak about two evolutions of the WWW:

    the Web 2.0 or Social Web and Web 3.0 or Semantic Web.

    The WWW evolutionary career began with the design of graphical interfaces to its web sites and continued with the implementation of applications that allow users to make purchases through the network and manage its resources with the administration, to become the manager of content with which it interacts, producing information to share with millions of users of the Web. These applications are the first major evolution of the WWW, and are part of the so-called Social Web or Web 2.0. But the relentless advance of this medium has not stopped at this point, the technology is developing applications that allow Web pages to provide meaning, ie to translate their content into a language that can be understood by the computer, allowing us to discuss the third major evolution of the media: the Semantic Web or Web 3.0.
