Resumen de Comprensión del sistema simbólico que representa conceptos tipo proceso

  Este trabajo presenta un estudio sobre la comprensión que poseen alumnos universitarios acerca de la representación gráfica de conceptos tipo proceso; más específicamente, de conceptos que son definidos como el cambio de alguna magnitud. Las representaciones gráficas se incluyen dentro del sistema simbólico que sirve para describir un concepto. En este caso particular, se compararon las respuestas de los alumnos frente al análisis de gráficas que describen el comportamiento de una magnitud en función del tiempo y de su cambio, en función del tiempo. Con el objeto de lograr una vara de comparación, se diseñaron ambas gráficas con la misma forma. La metodología corresponde a un estudio de caso que permite la descripción cualitativa de los resultados. La encuesta realizada se diseñó con preguntas estructuradas .Los resultados muestran que los alumnos no logran interpretar correctamente las gráficas pues no parecieran comprender o tener en cuenta la componente ontológica que define al concepto seleccionado como el cambio de otro.

  This work shows the results of a study on the university-students ́ comprehension of the graphic representations of Process Type concepts; particularly, concepts that are defined as the change of some other magnitude. These graphs are included among those established as the symbolic system that serves the purpose of describing a concept. In this case, we compared the students ́ answers for their analysis of graphs that describe the behavior of a magnitude and its change. In order to be able to compare these two responses, both graphs were designed having the same form. The methodology corresponds to a case study that allows the qualitative description of the results. The survey had structured questions. The results show that students do not interpret correctly the graphs since they do not understand or do not take into account the ontological component that defines the selected concept as the change of another one.
