Sexist discourse has been present in Spanish society for a long time. Being a controversial issue, the press picks it up in its pages, specifically in its opinion articles. A different and productive way of analyzing and understanding this fact is that provided by the gender perspective. Considering the above, the objectives of this work are, firstly, to create a corpus of texts that deal with questions about grammatical gender, from the 19th century to the 21st century; and, subsequently, describe and analyze them from a gender perspective.
All this integrated as a teaching activity in History of Language II classes, for the study and understanding of grammatical gender in Spanish in its diachronic evolution. To do this, a methodology has been proposed consisting of establishing a guide on what and how to search for these texts on the Internet and offering different analyzed examples so that students know a valid analysis procedure. The results obtained have been satisfactory: a total of 55 texts have been compiled and analyzed in the classroom, covering the required time frame;
A broad view of the controversial aspects offered by the grammatical gender in its diachronic evolution has been achieved.
